Dripping Away
Feb 16, 2021
As my mind manages to steady itself once again,
An assault of memories steal focus,
They drip with the cold of isolation
Both sides of my mind’s scale tip into a new low.
~~~
Regrets freezes all of my warmth,
A tormenting chill of guilt spreads deeper,
I focus on my mistakes,
All I am is a mistake.
~~~
I ask it to stop but it won’t listen,
All my strengths seem accidental,
My weaknesses are my identity
My blood would be a stain on the earth when I die.
~~~
I’ve tried to run from who I was,
With a stride of lies to who I am,
But I can never escape who I’ll become,
A human error, an erred human, my errors, myself.
